QAA and UKIPG Forum

A reminder to Main Group and FE&HEWP members that the second QAA and UKIPG Forum for Professional and Statutory Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th May 2009, at the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Woburn House, London.  The draft programme is attached.  

The administration of the event is kindly being undertaken by QAA.  Those wishing to register should contact Susan Melvin at QAA using the Booking Form.   There is no charge for attendance for representives of UKIPG member bodies, and those from similar bodies with interests in HE.

Following on from the matters raised at the February meeting, this Forum will concentrate on the training of accreditation panel members.  We know that there are many different approaches, for example some bodies use visiting panels whereas others use only a paper-based system.  Appropriate training is needed for both methods.   To enable us to get a feel for the range of practice, a Survey was raised using the 'Surveys' function on the UKIPG web-site.  There have been some difficulties with this link, but it has been working well recently.  It would help if we could get a wider range of responses, and if these could be linked to the relevant SOCs. It would also be useful if any UKIPG member bodies which cannot be represented could let the UKIPG Secretary know of any points that they would like to be raised on their behalf.
