Surveys of Accreditation Practice

Reminder of earlier Survey on Accreditation of Courses and Programmes, and a new Survey dealing specifically with the Involvement of Students.  Useful background for QAA Seminar on 20th May.

Surveys on Accreditation Processes

On Wednesday 20th May, the QAA and UKIPG PSRB Forum will meet to discuss and compare notes on the training of mambers of review panels, whether the review is done by visits, using third-party sources, or from completed documentation.

In preparation for that meeting - and to pilot the use of the 'Surveys' function on the UKIPG web-site - some weeks ago we issued a general Survey on the Accreditation of Courses and Programmes.  Despite some initial technical difficulties, many UKIPG members successfully entered data.  Thank you.

Since then, our Engineering Council 'International' colleague, Jim Birch, has been doing some work with international bodies in engineering, seeking views and current practice on the involvement of students in the accrediatation process.  He is surveying the engineering community but has asked if UKIPG could provide some cross-professional data for comparison.  His questionnaire has now been converted into a Student Accreditation Survey on UKIPG web-site.  If you have a few minutes to complete it, it would be useful to have some answers by the QAA Forum on Wednesday afternoon.  If you cannot meet that timescale, please submit anyway.

If you have not successfully submitted a response to the original more general 'Accreditation Survey', you are asked to so, for the same reasons and timing.
