UKIPG Business Meetings and Groups

The UKIPG conducts its business through a structured set of Meeting Groups, whether those meetings are real or virtual (eg web-based discussions). The latest paper - be it Agenda, Minutes, or topical paper, relevant to that Group can be access from the links below.  Further explanation of the work of these meeting groups then follows. The UKIPG Main Group

The UKIPG 'Main Group' is its highest level forum for discussion, and also its governing body.  It comprises representatives nominated by the member bodies (either 'members' of those bodies or senior staff).  A typical Main Group meeting would be hosted by a member body, would last about two hours, and might be followed by some social and networking time. The meetings are held quarterly. The agenda normally comprises:

• A presentation from a visiting speaker.
• Updates on topical issues and from Working Groups and Forums.
• One or two specific items which have been referred to the Main Group for wider and / or policy consideration.
• Some internal administration matters.

UKIPG Working Parties

To enable the Main Group to focus on matters which have already had some detailed consideration, UKIPG runs a series of Working Parties, generally staffed by respresentives of member bodies, with specialist interest and competence in a particualr field.  These Groups generally meet on a similar cycle to Main Group meetings, about a month in advance.  The current Groups are:

• Corporate Governance
• Further and Higher Education
• Professional Regulation

The papers for these meetings are promulgated via this web-site to those registered as UKIPG 'General Members'; access requires such members to 'log in' with username and password.  Once logged in, General Members have access to all meeting papers (not just those of the group which they normally attend).

UKIPG Forums

The UKIPG also operates two Foums, with a wider membership.  These are:

• International and European Affairs
• Continuing Professional Development

The papers for these Forum meetings are also promulgated via this web-site.  Those who are already 'General Members' have access from their normal 'log in'.   Other members of Forums have access to all matters relating to that Forum through a username and password allocated when they register for Forum membership.

UKIPG Executive Group

There is a small 'Executive Group', which advises the Chairman and oversees the day-to-day operation of UKIPG.  Access is again via this web-site and 'log in'.
